Francis Ford Coppola once said that he can’t pick his favorite movie of all time, only his 500. Choosing ten films is almost impossible, and listing 500 would be too much.

Therefore, this blog post has 100 of my favorite movies of all time. Or at least my favorite movies so far. And believe me, it’s hard to pick even ten, considering how many great movies have been made.

This task is extremely difficult but let’s begin this list of favorite movies of all time.

3. The Pusher Trilogy

I can’t decide which of the three Pusher films is my favorite. All of them are impressive, and many consider Refn’s Pusher the beginning of the Dogme 95 idea before Trier and Vinterberg. Therefore, I decided to reserve the third place for all three.

Director: Nicolas Winding Refn

Writers: Nicolas Winding Refn, Jens Dahl.

Main Cast: Zlatko Buric, Kim Bodnia, Mads Mikkelsen, etc.

Notable Film Events Recognition: Venice Film Festival, Bodil Awards, Danish Film Awards, etc.

2. Amadeus

If a movie deserves the epithet masterpiece, it’s Amadeus. Although far from the real true story, it’s so impressive that you don’t know which is better, the directing, the screenwriting, the acting, etc. It’s one of the rare movies that I’ve been in awe of.

Director: Milos Forman

Writers: Peter Shaffer, Zdenek Mahler.

Main Cast: F. Murray Abraham, Tom Hulce.

Notable Film Events Recognition: The Oscars, BAFTAs, Golden Globes, etc.

1. W.R.: Mysteries of the Organism (W.R. – Misterije organizma)

Without a doubt, my favorite movie, W.R.: Mysteries of the Organism is one of the most experimental films ever. Only the genius of Makavejev can make such a film, and it’s a pity it was forbidden for 16 years. It’s pointless to explain this movie; it’s best to watch it as soon as possible, as well as other Black Wave films.

Director: Dusan Makavejev

Writers: Dusan Makavejev

Main Cast: Milena Dravic, Ivica Vidovic, Zoran Radmilovic, etc.

Notable Film Events Recognition: Berlin International Film Festival, Cannes Film Festival, Chicago International Film Festival.

Here’s my list of favorite movies of all time. You have 100 movies to choose from, and I bet you haven’t seen all of them!
